Care and Hotel Service Opportunities

The Laura Johnson Home, is a community operated charity, consisting of 34 Low Care Units, a High Care Unit of 40 beds, 12 Independent Living Units and day Centre offering diversional and other therapy services to all of Mount Isa's aged community.

It is the only accredited residential care facility in Mt Isa and has the philosophy of providing quality of life for all residents, through quality nursing care and rehabilitation.

Laura Johnson Home is located in Mount Isa, a progressive city located in the heart of North-West Queensland. The city has a marked cosmopolitan flavour and enjoys modern facilities and shops, comfortable accommodation, a wide range of entertainment and almost every sport imaginable.

To uphold our professional standards we are seeking high calibre applicants for the following roles:
Personal Care Workers
Applicants must have a Senior First Aid Certificate and currently hold or have the ability to obtain a Certificate III in Community Service (Aged Care).

Hotel Services Staff
Staff are required in the areas of catering, laundry, cleaning and maintenance.

All applicants must have a commitment to high levels of customer service and be willing to work across all areas of the facility including Care and Hotel Services.

In return, Laura Johnson Home offers flexible rostering and work hours and excellent learning and developmental opportunities to all staff.

In terms of this approval, this Home holds the right to nominate for immigration to Australia certain applicants and their dependants who meet the Home's employment criteria as a Registered Nurse.
